Adon Ayele

The youngest of the Ayele siblings, Adon has passionate ambitions to be a carpenter, just like his father. To that end, he has moved to a little town called, Oceanside where a carpenter is sorely needed. His determination, his aloof demeanor, and rugged good looks have made him a very desirable bachelor, but he is more than a pretty face.

Kichoro Tambo

A kindhearted widow, Kichoro is a young mother struggling to provide for her precious son, Jabulani. She sacrifices everything she has for the love of her child and his welfare. No matter what it takes, she will ensure the her little one is provided for. Kichoro is selfless and generous, as well as strong and determined. She has a motherly nature that isn't reserved exclusively for Ja. It is simply her nature to tend to and care for others, even if it means putting their needs above her own. She has a soothing presence and is a bit naïve, but has a wisdom about her that comes from a life of hardship and experience. Losing her husband, Taran, was a difficult time in her life, but it wasn't the hardest trial she had faced. Those pains and the love of her family and friends is what gave her the strength to keep going. Even when she had nothing left, her spirit was drained, and her body was weak, love gave her the power to carry on.

Chui Ribbon

The flirty, sultry secretary to the governor of Oceanside, Chui is a fast cheetah girl. She was instantly smitten with Adon from the first time she saw him enter the governor's hall. Chui is sassy and shameless. She is confident in her looks and knows how to use them to get what she wants, especially if what she wants is to seduce a handsome, young carpenter.

Children

Jabulani Tambo

Jabulani, or Ja, as everyone calls him, is the child of Kichoro and Taran Tambo. They brought him into their home when he was just 2 years old and ever since then, he has been a beloved member of the Tambo family. When his father died, Ja became the last member of his family capable of passing on the Tambo name. He is the last Tambo. Kichoro’s adorable bright-eyed, cheerful, energetic, little boy is his mother’s pride and joy. He has an affinity for playing, wrestling, and building things. Ja is a loving little boy that still misses his father. The man passed away nearly a year ago, so he is still, understandably, grieving. But, even so, he can still find reasons to smile.

Kendi Ayele

The eldest of Dumi and Neha’s cubs, Kendi is a natural leader. He’s spirited, likes to play, and get dirty with his other brothers. Mud and dirt are things he happily plays in. At only four years of age, Kendi is still learning about his role as the eldest child. His uncle, Davu, talks to him about it. Kendi loves their discussions and appreciates his advice.

Yaro Ayele

The second of Dumi and Neha’s cubs, Yaro is always in competition with Kendi. He wants to catch up to him, even though they are only separated by a few minutes at birth. It’s a competition reserved to his young mind, as Kendi is completely unaware of the rivalry. Yaro is just like his brothers; playful, energetic, and loves to get messy.

Ajamu Ayele

Dumi and Neha’s middle child, Ajamu is the peacemaker of the group. When there is a quarrel among the children, Ajamu is usually the one to break it up and reconcile the ones involved. Ajamu is patient, thoughtful, and empathetic. He likes to play, but also likes to draw and is the only one of the cubs that regularly plays with his sister.

Mikaili Ayele

The fourth of the Ayele cubs, Mikaili is the most outspoken. He has yet to grasp the concept of discretion, so the things that he says have very little sensitivity. They are the unfiltered thoughts of a four year old boy. It’s this bluntness that often gets him into trouble. Mikaili is impish and lively. He’s a bit naughty, but always obedient to his loving parents.

Leilani Ayele

The youngest of Dumi and Neha’s cubs, Leilani is the only girl among the quintuplets and as such, is a often left out of the group. She likes to play house, cook with her mother, read with her father, and draw and play with Ajamu, the sibling she’s closest to. She is quiet, sweet, and a little shy. She’s very fond of Ja, who is also very fond of her.
