Bravewolf Family and Friends
Night Bravewolf
Night is the head of his family. He is married to Mhina, is the older brother of Shade and Blaze, and is a father to Tod and Kit. He is a renowned child psychiatrist that has even been called upon to help grieving children in the wake of tragedies in other countries.
Mhina-Liana Bravewolf
Mhina is Night's wife and the mother to both his younger brothers and her two adopted sons. All of the boys call her, Mama (except Tod, who calls her, Mom) and she calls all of them her children. Mhina is playful and sincere with a naturally motherly nature. She is extraordinarily affectionate with her children and very tender with her husband. She is sultry and seductive, honest and genuine, a wonderful mother, and a loving mate.
Shade Bravewolf
Shade is the middle brother between Night and Shade, but the oldest among the other siblings, including Tod and Kit. Still, being the middle child within his blood brothers, he has to bear the custom of maintaining a head of untrimmed hair. Shade's hair is longer than the entire length of his body. With his unnatural, otherworldly beauty, he is often mistaken for a girl and thus receives love letters on a weekly basis from his schoolmates. It's something he takes in stride and in good humor. Shade is a free-spirit through and through. He is comfortable with who he is and the body he was born into. Shade also has the remarkable gift of being able to see and hear the spirits that are around him, both the living and the dead. Nearly all wolves have a deeper bond to nature and the spirits than most animalians, but once in a while, a child is born with a connection so deep that it is uncontrollable and overwhelming. Such is the case with Shade. He cannot control his power and he cannot silences the voices that surround him at times. It is a debilitating ability that without training, could threaten to crush the boy under the immensity of its sheer weight.
Tod Munn
Tod is the biological son of Tam and Lana Munn. Tam, his father, died from a hereditary illness when Tod was young and just before Kit was born. He still has memories of his parents, though they get thinner with each passing year. He relies on Mhina to refresh or inform him of his past. Mhina was like a little sister to Tam and very close to Lana. That was Lana made her promise to take care of her boys if anything ever happened to her. It was a vow that Mhina never broke and a promise well kept. Tod is thoughtful and, at times, a little serious. He is protective of his brothers, even Shade.
Blaze Bravewolf
Between the biological Bravewolf brothers, Blaze is the youngest. But, among the children, he is second to last. Blaze is shy and a little insecure. He's also the only member of the family that has never had anyone to call, father. His parents, Hunter and Twilight, were killed in an accident very shortly after he was born. His eyes hadn't even opened yet. He has always looked at Night as his father, even though he is his brother. Deep down, he wants to call him, Papa, just like Kit does, but he has never told him, because he fears how it might change their relationship. Blaze has a fear of being in deep water. It's a phobia that has plagued him since he was a toddler, though no one knows when or why it manifested.
Kit Munn
Kit is the youngest member of the family and Tod's biological brother. Like Blaze, Kit never had the chance to get to know his birth-parents. All that he knows of them come from photos and anecdotes. It doesn't bother him much, though, as he has a mother and a father, now. Kit is the only one of the children that refer to night and Mhina as, "Mama" and "Papa". All of the boys call Mhina, "Mama" or "Mom", but Kit is the only one that does not call Night by his given name. Even though Tod looks at Night as his father, he still calls him by his name. Kit is curious, playful, and nearly as much of a free-spirit as Shade. He loves to laugh and genuinely worries over the happiness of others. He does his best to put a smile on everyone's face and to put one on his own, even when he's not feeling particularly happy.
Windwood Family
Meadow Windwood
Meadow is playful, witty, and a little naughty. He's Sahara's devoted mate and Marian's doting father. When he's not lavishing love and affection on the two ladies in his life, he is helping children learn to swim and overcome their fears of being in the water. He is how Night and Mhina became acquainted with him and Sahara. As a swim instructor, he was helping Blaze overcome his fear of being in deep water. The two families met and became fast friends. Though he comes off as mischievous, he's actually quite considerate and sentimental. No one knows this more than Sahara.
Sahara Windwood
Sahara is a gentle soul with a compassionate spirit. She is understanding and patient, but also a little saucy. When she fell in love with Meadow, she knew that he was all that she needed to be happy. Even though a wolf and a lioness could not make children, she believed that she could live without the joy of motherhood, as long as he was with her. After meeting Night, Mhina, and their children, her latent maternal instincts began to arise within her, and the urge to be a parent began to consume her. Eventually, she confessed to her beloved wolf about her feelings, feelings that he found he shared with her. They decided to grow their family and give each other the incredible gift of parenthood. Sahara is a wonderful mother, loving and wise. She raises her beloved daughter in the ways of becoming a lovely young woman.
Marian Windwood
The only child and a true gift to her parents, Marian is Meadow and Sahara's adorable daughter. Born of Sahara and a donor male lion, Marian's came into the world thanks to the help of a fertility clinic and Meadow and Sahara's mutual desire to become parents. Marian is lively and delightfully charming. She's curious and has the sweet, innocent mind of a little girl learning about the world she lives in. Her naiveté sometimes gets the better of her and gives her father a scare or two, like the time she proposed to a boy at just 5 years old. ...it's a long and humorous story, much to Meadow's distress, but to Sahara's delight and amusement.
